    I have a huge personal and carryon bag problem! lol. I’m a Lugnut and am obsessed with collecting Lug bags. The brand is known for fun, bright interiors, a designated soft lined cell pocket, a clearview zip pocket inside for makeup and the most organization I’ve seen so far. They do everything from wallets to carryon bags. But they do have so many cross bodies, totes, satchels and belt bags. I also like the Kroser underseater bag and packed 10 days of beach clothes in that and a Lug backpack!

    Great video - love how thoroughly you showed each bag! I recently got an "under seat" bag that is the same shape and dimensions as your Tumi and it fit under the seat on Southwest (1 flight so far) but did not fit on either of the Alaska flights I tried 😒 quite bummed because I love that shape & size!

    advice for Versailles - while you may be able to get yourself there on the train, you also need to find a bus to the palace or be up for quite a long walk. Also be prepared to stand in line for hours to actually get in. Groups are the way to go 👍

    I went from zippered tote to backpack ..... but now I'm going back to zippered tote. I rarely actually wore the backpack using both straps. It was either on my carry-on with the trolley sleeve or hanging on one shoulder. The tote is just a better-looking bag. I just ordered a new carry-on today, a TravelPro Maxlite 5. With non-US carriers, weight is always an issue, and this one is a full 2 pounds lighter than my old carry-on.

    I would love a video about how you deal with security when you travel. I thought I was careful but still managed to have two credit cards compromised on a trip to DC, even with using RFID wallets. Do you think there's any value in things like the slash resistant bags, vs maybe carrying as little as possible and keeping it very close to your body. I think too many people think of it as only being an international travel concern, but obviously it can happen anywhere. (Personally I think it's worth being that much more careful when cruising. Targeting cruiser who may have limited internet access would be a great way to get away with using a credit card for days or more before the cardholder notices.)

    As a larger person, I always look for a tote with a longer handle drop. Much more comfortable and can be hands-free when needed. And the trolley sleeve is the other necessity. I use a Longchamps le Pilage in everyday life. If it had a trolley sleeve, I’d probably never need to switch.

    This is so timely Jen so thank you for taking the time to do this video. I have the Everywhere Bag and love it when using a US carrier for my personal bag. However, I’m Canadian and flying with a Canadian carrier soon. The dimensions are much smaller on our two major Canadian carriers (limited to 16 x 11 x 6). Yes, this is smaller than Easyjet and Ryanair and probably most if not all of the US ULCC! So I’ve been looking at pre-loved Tumi backpacks on Poshmark and doing some research. I hear what you’re saying about ensuring authenticity - what is confusing is that most Tumi bags have a 20 character serial “Tracer” number you can verify with Tumi while others don’t (your backpack I believe is the Tumi Calais and it apparently doesn’t). The newer backpacks such as the Celina, Carson and Halsey do so I’m patiently waiting for a great deal like you got! Have a wonderful trip!

      @JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge 8 часов назад

      Yeah honestly? I didn’t even know there were fakes when I bought mine so I just got lucky but you have much better luck when they’re slightly worn if that makes sense? Unlikely a counterfeiter would take the time to age it especially at that price point.

    My husband and I love WDW but he doesn't like leaving the room much before noon. If you're traveling with someone who has different schedules than you this is a good time to practice being solo in parks, restaurants, etc. I go to the parks by myself all the time when we're there. I just spent a glorious day in EPCOT in the pouring rain! I did a leisurely photo walk, hopped on one ride, ate macarons, people watched, it was wonderful. He was very happy to be cozy and dry in the room. A great way to "practice" being alone as you say. (I DO love being alone).

    I really enjoy watching your vlogs! Because of your encouragement, I took my first solo trip in January to Disney World (I’m also a DVC member). I thought I was doomed from the beginning! I was standing near the gate at my home airport and couldn’t get my bottle of Dasani open. I literally had to ask a couple passing security guards if they could open it for me (I felt better when they struggled too 😂). Then I had a layover in Atlanta which I have done many times with my husband so I knew I’d feel comfortable finding my way to the next gate. What I didn’t count on was the escalator not working. I didn’t see an elevator so I thought I could pull my carry on and underseat bag down the steps no problem. Boy was I wrong. The escalator was so steep so I felt like I needed to hold the railing with one hand but 1/4 of the way down I realized I wasn’t strong enough to carry both bags with my other hand. I was so thankful when the young man behind me offered to carry my bags down for me! Once in Orlando I took Mears to the Boardwalk where I was staying. I had a lovely evening walking around Epcot. I have never stayed in a hotel room by myself and wouldn’t you know it, someone tried to get into my room just as I was getting ready for bed! Fortunately I think they realized they had the wrong room and moved on. I piled a bunch of stuff next to the door after that. I spent most of the next day by myself until a local friend joined me that evening to go to the Moonlight Magic event at Epcot. She then stayed with me the next three nights. I don’t know that I enjoy traveling by myself but I now know that I can do it if I need or want to again. It definitely was a good confidence booster for me. I can so relate to your comment about trying to figure out who you are and what you like after raising your children. I am 55 and have spent the last 30 years revolving my life around my husband, my 3 children and now 4 grandchildren. While I may not do another DVC trip alone, I do encourage my husband to bring his golf clubs when just he and I come. I’ve found I really enjoy doing my own thing while he golfs. So far I’ve enjoyed horseback riding at Fort Wilderness and floating around the lazy river at Typhoon Lagoon. Thanks again for doing what you do. I feel like we have had a lot of similar life experiences (thyroid issues, horrible experience with a church youth group leader as a teenager, DVC to name a few). I’m always surprised when you bring things up that I am also thinking about. 😃

    Saw this book on Amazon today. Looks interesting. I don’t think I can attach a link or photo, but from the description it sounds like it would be a good read. It’s called “A weekend to change your life: find your authentic self after a lifetime of being all things to all people”. It’s by Joan Anderson who wrote “a year by the sea”. I might check it out. Has anyone read it? Joan actually took a whole year “off” and went and lived by the sea!

    I really enjoyed this video. I haven’t traveled completely alone in a long time, but my last Disney World trip included several days on my own and I loved it. When you read the response of “Peace” as a reason to travel alone, that resonated with me. Thanks!
